
Scott began running in high
school, where he participated in cross country and track. He continued his running
career at Northwood University, specializing in Cross
Country and the 10K. Between Cross Country and Track, Scott has coached 10 teams
to a top-16 performance in the MHSAA State Finals. His highest finishing teams include the 2008 MHSAA Track
State Championship and the 2003 MHSAA Track State Championship Runner-up. He has worked with 17 State Champions, 4
State Champion Runner-Ups, 32 All-State athletes and over 100 State Final Qualifiers. He has been nominated
for the MITCA Division 4 Coach of the Year 4 times and won the LSJ Division 4 Coach of the Year on 5 separate occasions. When not coaching, his favorite thing to do is spend time with his wife Lisa and 2
little girls – Melanie and Vivian.
